Pattern clash alert featuring Barry M and Maybelline

Finally after all the stress, late nights and the lack of sleep my first year of university is complete! YES! To say I'm relieved is an understatement but I still have to await my final grades to see if I've made it into my second year. Although after returning back home now for the summer it feels so strange, especially not being: woken up at different hours of the night from the noise, the fire alarm going off or people coming in from a night out. It's silent, pure bliss what anyone wants- but it is so surreal. Unfortunetly I wasn't able to pack everything into my three suitcases I brought home, they all contained clothes and jewellery, so my nail varnishes were left behind. Que me buying more- my addiction for nail varnishes gets worse and worse. Here are my latest nail varnish purchases:  Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots in Speckled Pink  Barry M Pink Sapphire Glitter  Barry M on the thumb and ring finger With patterns and neon being a big trend for ...

Stiletto Nails

If your a regular follower of my blog you know that I completely LOVE nails and anything to go with them; nail varnishes, acrylic nails or nail art to name but a few. Since coming home from university I finally got my nails done after 3 months without acrylic nails, it feels good to have some decent sized nails that I can try out different ideas on. But of course I love how elegant and nice they make your hands look, it may sound strange but I always think my fingers are slightly bent and having my nails done makes them seem straighter.. weird I know. When I first got my nails done they were done in the Stiletto style, which has been made famous by the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga. At first I was a bit scared yet excited when I had them done as they looked amazing, though they were slightly sharp, also I was worried to how I would adapt to them as it was as though I would scratch anything I came in contact with. After a few days I filed them so they werent as sharp and I found ...

Glittered Nails using Barry M- 'You can take my heart like a criminal'

Image
It's that time of week when I get bored again of my nails and  start to crave having my nails done! Stiletto nails look amazing and it would save me painting my nails each week if I had a nice set of beautiful perfect nails done for me. However I'm a skint student so luckily I have a variety of nail varnishes to tantalize my craving of doing my nails week in and week out. Last week I painted my nails and I wasn't to sure on them at all, I painted them half and half and of course had a glitter nail. Though the half and half nails didn't seem to look right, maybe if I had sponged the purple and nude colour together it would've gave a more ombre feel to my nails.   Hopefully you see what I mean, although I really liked my glittered nail, this gave me an idea for my nails this week.   This was my final outcome for this week, I LOVE THEM! I used Collection 2000 'Moonlight Shine ' as the base colour and Barry M 'Ruby Glitter' as the top coat...

Green, Purple and Glitter Nails, "Go on and take a bow"

Image
I always wish I had longer, perfect nails rather than my easily broken short nails. Looking at my friend's acrylic stiletto nails makes me jealous with ridiculous amounts of envy! I wish I had the money just to get my nails done week in and week out with the latest design or shape. Looking in magazines makes my obsession worse by seeing celebrities or even adverts advertising their latest nail varnish or even the nails they wear just for ONE performance, why can't that be me?! Why can't I be able to paint my nails and make it seem like them adverts? That will never happen though, but it's good to dream. When I used to get plain white acrylic tips, I would regularly paint them as I get bored so easily with plain nails and I liked to experiment with different colour nail varnishes and designs. Though one colour I have NEVER tried is green, green isn't a colour I would really go for, it's a colour I have never worn either on nails or even clothes. But it's good...
