"Nothing lasts forever"

Image
"Keep your head up, nothing lasts forever", I'm sure at some stage in your life you've heard this well known saying when a relationship or friendship has broken down or changed. Some things only come to an end because situations/environments have changed or people grow up and start to realise their worth- whether bad or good. Kelly Clarkson, the first American Idol winner, is well known for her constant battles with her weight and her straight to the point heart felt lyrics, that even inspired me as a teenager. There's always that one song that will adapt to a situation that you are in at some stage in your life and once you hear it that memory will be stored within your mind and with that song forever. "It's hard to get high when your living on the bottom", for a while now I've been very insecure about the way I look or feel- this isn't directly aimed at anyone this is just me. With the way the world is everyone is stereotyped into a certi...

Insecurities

Usually you'd expect me to write something regarding fashion right now, but for a change this is something different. I love making my blog more diverse by adding my own personal elements to it and making it my own. They say insecurtites can make you or break you- you either face your fear or let it haunt you forever. Everyone has something about themselves or something they are insecure about, especially me. I like to try and hide what scares me the most behind a smile, as I believe your insecurities are something so personal to you. They're something that can stop you from being happy or even prevent you from achieving something within your life. "Always wear your heart on your sleeve" that's what they say- but doesn't that show a sense of weakness sometimes? Knowing someone can see and feel how much emotion you have towards them or something within your life. However it can show a sense of confidence and passion towards someone that your not afraid to emb...

Home is where my heart remains; my 21st

Image
After counting down from September the moment finally came for my 21st birthday! I was annoying everyone with me telling them day after day how many days and hours was left till the big day, but when the day finally came I couldn't of asked for a more perfect day.The boyfriend came round at half 11 as he wanted to be there when it was finally my birthday-soppy but very cute. Then the rest of the morning was spent with my mum as she FINALLY had a whole day off, so it was nice to have a catch up. Later at night I went for a meal at Toros, which is a steak house in Rothwell which is absolutley beautiful. I especially recommend the Strawberry wine! I went with my closest friends and family and was surprised at the end with a homemade Chanel handbag birthday cake which was delicious. I was then whisked back to town where I was ushered downstairs to see my friend had organised a suprise birthday party with a few of my favourite people, cue me walking in when One Direction was playing- ...

Oh if you could see me now..

This is a totally different post to what you would expect from me, this is something more personal to me. Everyone has that one song that is really personal to them and has a special meaning. Music is a way for people to escape from their own problems into their own little worlds, although you can use music as a way for you to relate a song to an issue. I've been in love with The Script now for years and I love the fact I can now have a weekly fix of Danny O'Donaghue on The Voice. "If you could see me now" is their latest single and I've totally fell in love with it, there's something so special about this song that really does touch me. It reminds me so much of me and my family and in a sense it gives me that sense of strive to make them so proud. I'm really close to my mum, sister and brother, they are my main inspirations and heroes in life. I've never met my dad before, neither do I know much about him either, of course I'm cur...

Back home for Christmas

Image
I've been back in Northamptonshire now for a week and it still hasn't sunk in that I'm home. Even after the endless breakfasts and cups of tea in bed thanks to my loving mother and getting bitten by my adorable yet annoying kitten. After three months in Southampton, I've been calling that my home and starting to adapt to my different surroundings, though returning back to my true home it's as though nothings changed. Everything is still the same, the same people, sort of the same businesses and the same dramas there were even when everyone left. In my first week I walked through my front door to find my mother had over decorated the house for another year, but I wouldn't expect anything different. My kitten to have grown a lot and that its started to become like a child I had to watch every two seconds to see what it was up to, with it constantly taking and hiding my things. Then I returned to my normal routine with a typical Thursday night out with my work lo...

Post Secret.. Whats your secret?

Image
I know this is meant to be more of a fashion blog than anything else, but I also like writing about subjects that really influence me. Ive known about Post Secrets now for a few years and they really do touch my heart and do shock me to an extent of what people write. Basically a Post Secret is a postcard which someone designs themselves- which includes a background image they create and then the secret itself. Although what I never realised was how in depth people can go with their secrets- I expected just normal everyday secrets like "I really like you, but I don't know how to tell you" for example, but some people gave away a deep and emotional secret to them. It started to go on the website once a week to see the secrets and the detail that people went to within them and the design of the card really shock me. Though when America was sadly rocked with the events of 9/11 I thought people would want to keep there feelings to themselves as of course it's such a ...

Tattwho?

Image
All Ive heard about lately is tattoos, "what one should I get for my first?" "Is this too big/small?" "Will it suit me". Tattoos now a days are very publicized within the media, the moment a celebrity gets a tattoo its front page news- which I definitely don't believe deserves to be front page issues?! Surely there are more important issues going on rather than ooo look who has a new tattoo! Though society now a days seems to judge people with tattoos which I think is totally unfair as you cant judge a book by its cover drawings, can you? Getting your first tattoo is a big deal, it's something that stays with you for the rest of your life, although some people just do it for the spur of the moment feeling and that adrenaline rush. Some people get tattoos that mean something to them personally, something they have an interest in or just something they see and like the look of.  In time however, people can start to regret tattoos they got as they e...
